This is a slightly different post for Bloody Elbow as Ryan Hall reached out to us, asking if we would be interested in helping to spread the word on his recent open letter to the martial arts. This 3 DVD set spans over 4.5 hours of instruction with 55 incredible Open Elbow techniques shown in the same methodical teaching style that has made Ryan Halls previous Jiu-Jitsu DVD sets world.

Posting Rules. Follow the rules of and use. I don't think he's planning on dying soon:) He wrote in July: 'I don't know if I'll ever be doing another DVD series now that MMA is picking up. Ryan Hall The Open Elbow Surgery

I posted the full FB entry yesterday on this page (just scroll down). Never say never, but it sounds like there no new entry planned. At this point, with all he's shared with us, the only thing we can hope for Ryan is a successful MMA career. From his July 4th post on FB:'Er, meant to mention the topics of the new series. Sorry about that one, guys; wasn't trying to be Mr. Secretive for no reason. The are.

The Defensive Guard:An almost entirely conceptual series that explains the guard and its use/purpose as I understand it for grappling and (to a lesser extent) fighting. Did my best to illustrate most of the important ideas that I believe separate the best guys from everyone else so that one is able to practice as efficiently as possible as they build their toolbox and strategic understanding over time. Covers open guard, movement, transitioning, and ultra-close-range defense. The Open Elbow:Another almost entirely conceptual set that deals with creating and maintaining vulnerability in an opponent, which can be used to do all sorts of things.

Again, I feel that this is one of the strategies/concepts that separates the top-tier guys from the rest of us, and it has made a really big difference for me. Big focuses are the kimura and oma plata positions because they illustrate this idea really well.I don't know if I'll ever be doing another DVD series now that MMA is picking up. Between training, fighting, and doing my best to be a good coach at Fifty/50, I won't have much time for anything else. Wanted to make sure that the final offerings were as open ended as possible so that they would be (hopefully) the most useful for the most people going forward, even if the specific techniques don't directly relate to their games. Hopefully they end up being useful and I wasn't accidentally talking in circles. Couple of things:I love Ryan and will buy all of his products until the end of time.

No hyperbole.Second point: I still have his Passing and Arm Triangles DVD's and feel like I have only gotten 5% out of them so far. There is sooo much information, as Simco said about they can keep you busy for a long time.Strategically, I don't know if this is helping or hurting him business-wise.

I mean I DID buy both DVDs together but if he released one DVD at a time, a couple of years apart, realistically that's all I could 'handle' from a learning point of view.In any event.Shut up and take my money.
